William “Mack” Bushart became the first Executive Director of the KY Property Valuation Administrator’s Association on July 1, 2005. Mr. Bushart has been in public service since 1985 when he was first elected to the office of Property Valuation Administrator in Marshall County, Kentucky. He served nine years as the county’s PVA and during that time was active in the leadership of the Association, having been honored to serve as their President in 1992.
Mr. Bushart came to state government in 1994, joining the Commonwealth’s State Board of Elections. After five years, including working as their Executive Director, he transferred to the Transportation Cabinet and worked in the Office of Minority Affairs before assuming the duties of the Director of Motor Vehicle Licensing. In 2002, Mr. Bushart was asked to become Transportation’s Commissioner of Vehicle Regulation, responsible for five divisions and over 600 employees. His duties included working with the legislature on transportation issues and he has testified many times before legislative committees.
Mr. Bushart earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Murray State University.
